ASTM A36 carbon steel plate is an American standard steel plate, and it can be written as ASME A36 steel plates or ASTM A36 steel sheet for ASME standard production. The thickness of the steel plates is between 8mm-400mm, and the delivery state is delivered in the state of hot-rolled steel plate. The yield strength of A36 is not less than 360 MPa. It is an easy-to-cut and easy-to-weld steel sheet material with stable performance and high yield strength and toughness. It is often used to cut large parts, or apply to large mechanical equipment, welded structural parts, etc.
The flaw detection standard of A36 steel sheets shall be tested in accordance with the American standard flaw detection standard.
The impact toughness test of A36 carbon steel plates uses a Charpy V-notch specimen. The impact toughness index is Akv. For the above-mentioned grades B, C, and D steels, they are all required to reach Akv≥27J under their respective temperature requirements.
